Unsurprisingly, it went POOF! Thursday’s Stormfront War looked like this. While I still do login 2-3 times per week, I can’t really call it playing the game anymore since I rarely do any content (only guild wars/tournament since returning, some devil hunts, and occasionally doing the quest in Stormfront Wars).
I accounted for 6 of the 20 participants in channel 2 (running them through the devil souls quest with Hopi) since that number only increments. I presume I wasn’t the only one running alts just for the quest and didn’t stick around for the actual rounds to see exactly how many were actually playing (would not have surprised me if both channels were single digits).
Guild wars hasn’t been done by any guild yet since the last tournament cycle a week ago. The enigma box event since Friday (November 10th) hasn’t really made a difference. Elara (EU) is still in slightly better condition even though it has lost way more players (it had more to begin with). Two guilds still at least try to do guild wars and the gear score rankings for each class at least fill up all 10 pages.
Many people are experiencing issues getting the game to run with the latest Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (build 1709). It’s going to be interesting to see if they can actually get a patch from Bluehole (and if they do, when). As more update, this is going to add insult to injury.
While I wrote about this and expected this from awhile back, it is still very sad to see it actually occurring.
The grass also isn’t much greener with Webzen and MU Legend. End game content there is equally lacking (which is one of the main reasons for the huge population dropoff in Korea) in addition to the re-entry limits on places to farm for materials. It’s a game that will appeal to longtime MU players and ones looking for an MMO style ARPG (Trion is cancer for way too many players now) while waiting for the elusive “perfect” one (of which many are hoping Lost Ark will be; which it won’t if that ever does release in the west).
