Another One Bites The Dust at Blizzard Entertainment

This time, it is another one of the original co-founders, Frank Pearce.  This comes less than an year since co-founder and former CEO Mike Morhaime’s departed last October (that announcement coming just weeks before BlizzCon 2018).

Blizzard Entertainment President J. Allen Brack also had a statement regarding Pearce’s departure.

This leaves only one of the original company founders left at Blizzard Entertainment; Allen Adham (who unlike Morhaime and Pearce, stepped away from the company for 12 years before returning in 2016, and therefore brought a different perspective having been on the outside for that long).  I already opined about some of these changes recently and won’t rehash what I wrote.

These ongoing changes (and all of the recent chinks in the AAA studio armor) are part of the reason why I no longer have any expectations regarding “Diablo 4” (more so when the company besides that time when they had the Blizzard North studio, has never gotten its head wrapped around what an ARPG really is).
