I mentioned several times before about a “habit” that I have when playing through a game for the first time. That is where I play a character with its barebones skills (like I don’t use skill points or utilize specialized ones until later) without all of the damage/defense modifiers. Simple example was not unlocking my tripod skills in Lost Ark until I really began hitting the limits (where you notice you aren’t dealing enough damage, lacking cooldown, or not having enough damage reduction).
In the case of my revenant, I was NOT (minor edit) using my hero points to train my skills and unlocking specializations. So I was really over handicapping myself; once I got past my own stubbornness and unlocked the Assassin stance (I was using just the default Dwarf stance) and trained it for Impossible Odds, I now have a quick movement skill to use. It’s not as fast as having an actual mount but this and Phase Traversal are decent for getting around much quicker.
I’m now at 32% world completion at level 37. I also decided to deviate from my “exploration only” challenge; once I hit 40 and complete chapter 4 of my personal story, I’m going to finish the uncompleted events in the 1-25 zones to get some 100% map completions for the rewards. By then, I’ll be able to unlock my 2nd specialization (level 45) and will resume mainly on exploration leveling again.
Repeating what I mentioned before, I made the right choice in selecting this title (as my 2nd alternative go to) to scratch the exploration itch I was having.
