Gamigo Disabling ArchePass Due To Wider Spread Issues

Let me just get this off my chest first… ALL of the former Trion folks still handling ArcheAge/ArcheAge Unchained need to be FIRED for their incompetence.

As I noted before, this was something they should have done when they decided to issue the suspensions (which they had to mostly walk back).  A non-rushed PTS (or a more proper alpha and best testing cycle) would’ve uncovered the issues with the ArchePass (the same executive producer keeps making the same boneheaded decisions).

More gold is coming into the economy with the low level dwarf area missions being farmed quickly (to complete the 100 missions in a couple of hours).  The larger “issue” however is for the vocational track with all of the labor recharges which gives those folks a huge labor pool advantage (at least 24,000 labor regen).  The lack of proper build validation and testing is all on Khrolan and the rest of his incompetent team.

The ArchePass has been temporarily disabled on all North American and European ArcheAge: Unchained servers. All existing progress has been saved and the Diligence Coin store is still accessible. We are evaluating the range of issues that have been presented from gold reward values, to quests distributed repeatedly, the level of effort required to progress, and overall enjoyability of participating in the related progression.

Europe and North American servers will be offline at the following times to make these changes:
EU maintenance starts on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 8:30 PM PDT / 3:30 UTC with an estimated downtime of about 60 minutes.
NA maintenance starts on Friday, Oct. 25 at 6:00 AM PDT / 13:00 UTC with an estimated downtime of about 60 minutes.

UPDATE:  This is now a hilarious shit show.  I went to the lower level dwarf zone and was blind invited to a raid (since there are multiple groups running them on lower level alts and just mass inviting).   No, I did not take part since I see no reason to take the “exploit to win” approach.  That’s what is funny about the NA crowd.  They complain about wanting “no P2 <insert favorite description>” but a lot of those same folks, will abuse buggy game mechanics to get ahead.

I’m getting $80 worth of entertainment in a completely different way now.  I want to see how they plan to clean this mess up or how they spin the information.  There are some folks asking for server wipes and a reset; that isn’t a realistic option a little over a week into launch.  A more realistic option (but one that is going to cost Gamigo) would be completely fresh servers (once the existing ArchePass issues are reviewed and a decision made on its future, plus the promised grace period for queues and disconnects implemented); where you have to opt out of your existing characters progress in order to create new ones (and be re-awarded any packs) on those fresh servers.

I’m waiting to regen my labor (700 when I stopped) and need enough to make enough tax certificates on my other character for the 8×8 I just set down.  In the mean time, those taking advantage of the bug (until NA is brought down for the maintenance to patch out the system) will be able to burn through labor to make tax certificates that will secure their plots and buildings for a long while (while I haven’t found any place to set down a 16×16).
