ArcheAge Unchained – ArchePass Relaunches With A Ton of Bugs

This is par for the course with both XLGAMES and the former Trion personnel who are now managing ArcheAge at Gamigo.  They obviously do not play test the builds they receive from XLGAMES (gross negligence on their part especially when they are peddling this as a buy to play title) and so it goes with the actual ArchePass issues (the only thing they gave a damn about was the problem with the ArchePass system causing server instability where they had to “disable” the system on EU and cancelled the update for NA; the disable is in quotes because all they did was disable the UI since players who unlocked the pass, still saw progress happening).

I only reported one of the ArchePass problems (the one with XP going negative) but not the others which included progress tracking issues, rewards occasionally failing to be given properly, the premium pass causing issues with the UI, and anything else which I didn’t really have the time to check further into to verify since they took down the PTS).  Again, Khrolan and his team of former Trion personnel have never ran a proper testing environment; he signs off on these builds to be released into a production/live environment and continues this practice with Unchained (a paid for product) which is completely unacceptable in my book (knowingly releasing a buggy product).

Gamigo also dodged another weekly stream today so the people responsible for this ongoing incompetence (Khrolan, Tinen, and the rest of the Trion holdovers) are doing the exact same thing they did back in the Trion days (ostrich with the head stuck in the sand, turtle with the head pulled back into its shell mode) in hopes some of this will eventually wash over.  They’ve still yet to detail when we will get the 2nd pack grant (or will this be like Trion 2.0 where they will eventually “forget” about it), what happened to the server transfers (which of course is moot now that queues have mostly disappeared and none of the servers have any faction restrictions anymore, but is still something that some players would use since they had to create their characters on a server which they did not originally want to be on due to those earlier restrictions and locks), and the status of the first weeks grant of diligence and labor rechargers.

Again, I know how Trion tried to deal with this where they would let enough time pass (where there would be even more issues) where players would get tired of asking or forget completely.  And since we have the same producers in charge (Khrolan and Tinen), they are going to use the same playbook.  I know that all of these ArcheAge Unchained posts are coming across as a dead horse that is playing a broken record.  It’s meant to document a pattern of very poor/incompetent practices though which is considered acceptable in the gaming industry (and why if this industry cannot self-regulate, needs to eventually have external oversight applied to it).

However, since I’ve reached my limits with posting about their continued incompetence, just presume that this low quality effort/incompetence is the status quo norm unless I actually highlight something positive which they’ve changed in terms of how they do things (I’d prefer to write about my actual game play progression instead of this gross incompetence by the people managing the publishing side, and the people at XLGAMES that are putting out the buggy code which the people on the publishing side are failing to properly test).
