Epic Games announced Unreal Engine 5 along with a demonstration of the new game engine on the PlayStation 5. Unreal Engine 4 projects will be compatible and can be brought forward into 5. The vast majority of UE4 titles are mobile games (only a small fraction of PC and console games are) and that imbalance isn’t likely to change.
While the technical demo shows some very high quality and realistic graphics, the same happened with UE4 early on but technical demos are one thing. Utilizing it in games is entirely another matter.
