As part of Guild Wars 2 (GW2) 8th Anniversary celebration, ArenaNet announced the third expansion which will be called, End of Dragons (release date slated for 2021).
The game will also be making its way to Steam in November with access to the same servers as the standalone ArenaNet launcher.
In the meantime, the company will be celebrating the anniversary with the usual free gifts and anniversary packs which can be claimed in-game. Additionally, skimmer mounts (requires Path of Fire) will have a new mastery track which will allow underwater travel.
I haven’t played GW2 since the second episode of the Icebrood Saga (Shadow in the Ice) since I ended up engrossed in ArcheAge Unchained. I remember last year around this same time, I was fully engaged in Guild Wars 2 because it was scratching the exploration itch that I had at that time. The new skimmer mount mastery piqued my interest so I’m returning to pickup where I left off in the Icebrood Saga as well as earning the new mastery for the skimmer.
