This story is going to be good (where we will learn the reasoning for her euthymic state, the vision hunt decree, “eternity”) as the Raiden Shogun has lost all of her close friends, and seemingly lost her true self, the person known as Ei).
Additional Clarity: Not only did she lose her closest friends (big theme with miHoYo in their stories is the “power of friendship”) one by one, but she also lost herself, the once happy girl known as Ei that she tries to reach out to, but who ends up disappearing from her grasp. Zhongli mentioned that she would eventually learn of Rex Lapis’ “death” (that he had faked, but from her point of view, is yet another friend that she has lost). The pain and loneliness has numbed her to this euthymic state (to deal with the pain) where she has this desire to protect her people from having to experience the same feeling of loss, while not realizing there are consequences to her actions with closing off Inazuma, and enacting the vision hunt decree (where some lose their own sense of purpose and ambitions, effectively robbing them of their own dreams and thus happiness).
