Got that e-mail stating what it says in the title for my channel. It seems to be rather common since there are multiple threads on Reddit like this and this (which highlight the specific details of that message).
My non-response to (fix) that is “go to hell YouTube”. The “lack sufficient history” bullshit speaks volume because the account is almost 12 years old with a long history of video uploads, engagement on some videos, and over 270K channel views (which considering how unserious my channel is, is still a large amount since most times, channels like mine will be in the more normal hundreds or thousands of view range). Additionally, those advanced features are meaningless for a channel like mine.
My channel is also non-monetized for multiple reasons including the big one; I am not giving any of that kind of personal information to Alphabet/Google (like the same info you need to hand over to naturally verify in order to get a check mark; not important to me). Plus, the “content” on it is not worthy of monetization anyway (though YouTube still runs their garbage ads on them for those who do not use an ad blocking system that works around all of their nefarious methods to try and prevent it).
While the company is free to implement whatever asinine rules they want to, it’s usually for trying to coerce users for their most personal of information. Like if I ever get something like that for Blogger (this blogging platform is also owned by Google), the first thing I will do is download all of my data, delete it all, and find something else.
