One of the biggest problems with the migration process (from Blogger to WordPress) is the formatting of many posts (with the improper line breaks) and internal blog links not properly updating the URL to the new domain. Having fixed most of these on my other migrated blogs (which had much fewer posts), fixing the broken formatted ones: I ended up using two different external text formatting tools (copying/pasting several times) in order to get it all cleaned up, and then changing those URL references manually.
In the case of this blog, trying to clean up all of that before making this archive available represents a lot of hours for little return. Most of the earliest postings are related to Diablo III (a game which is now in maintenance mode), many posts having missing images since they were hosted on ImageShack (which eliminated free hosting in 2016), are posts that are outdated/have way too much missing context anyway since the source/reference is to Battle.net forum posts that no longer exist (due to a major forum change that Blizzard conducted several years ago). With over 1400 posts (on average taking 3 minutes each to fix, that is approximately 70-80 hours of editing).
I’ve been slowly performing some of this over the past month (working from most recent). Thus, I’ll be slowly fixing some of this over time and noting the cleaned up posting periods below (until then, there will be many posts with bad formatting and outdated links).
UPDATE: post issues fixed from March 2025-May 2019. Many of these pre-2020 posts have link backs to older entries (making it much more of a headache).
I also began working from the oldest entries to break up the monotony (not many internal link backs). Post issues fixed from the beginning-August 2018.
At least until 2015, those are really malformed (missing line breaks). Eventually will meet up from either side (however, 2015-2018 has the large majority of my postings – it’s going to be a huge editing grind).
I also found myself cursing out the me of that time period (the amount of wasted time nitpicking about just one game; there is a point where being passionate about something can turn into toxicity).
