Part of KTERA’s closing events includes a final mission for players to play through called the Last Quest where you meet up with a lot of the games NPC’s, and ends with a final cinematic where they (the ones who are still alive) bid you farewell.
Unfortunately, Gameforge says they were unable to bring this final quest to us in a playable format due to the “lack of time” (but at least were able to provide a subtitled video of the final cinematic below – mirrored).
The other part of that equation is also technical related when it comes to personnel to carry out such an update which includes localizing the quest chain (Gameforge has had the game running with a skeleton crew since the announcement).
Thus we sadly won’t be able to experience the actual mission quest or the cinematic involving our own characters (the following is a KR players VOD of the final mission).
There’s also several NPC’s (including Elleon, Paesyn, and Shiozu/Zolyn) in Velika and Highwatch that have final messages which weren’t captured in the above video.
Even though a lot of us will still have access to the game after the PC version officially sunsets, the finality of the actual development ending (and the game officially closing) with this final mission, hits home a lot more. It still was sad watching all of this because there will be many in the future, who will never have the chance to experience the game play (still the best combat IMHO), all of the beautiful locations, and the excellent music (while experiencing that combat and game world) of TERA Online.
