This is what I meant earlier with regards to easy places to farm for experience. Potentially, any quest/event. The general point as to why the D3 developers are nerfing runs like Mira Eamon, Caldeum citizens (Scouring of Caldeum), etc., is they don’t want players playing the game this way. the thing is that with Iskatu, they’d have to nerf the experience gains from the spawns. And this again affects the reward of playing the game. It’s the same with the Captain Daltyn runs; a portion of that experience was also from killing the trash before/after the cellar. The point I’m trying to make is that this is all a direct outcome of the design THEY came up with (a design flaw/deficiency by allowing players to actually go back to repeat individual quests as opposed to segmenting quests into larger macro sections). Nerfing does not address the root cause and is a lazy approach.
They took chunks of the storyline, and chopped them into smaller pieces, while making these smaller segments repeatable. Diminishing rewards is the easy “fix” but naturally makes repeating individual quests, less rewarding. Thus it makes the reset quest option the go to. But in around 2 weeks time, this is generally going to be moot with Adventure mode (for those upgrading to Reaper of Souls). And this generally takes away what little incentive there is to periodically do the Campaign.
And this is the problem I have with this development team; all they know how to do is nerf stuff as opposed to figuring out how to incentivize players with more creativity (not giving those ideas away though). But generally speaking, once the hotfix goes through, ALL quests that are repeated, will give diminishing experience/gold returns, outside of the reset quest option (where it will give the initial high rewards). Eventually, they will begin to nerf the rewards from events as well.
Update: the hotfix has been applied (all repeated quests now give lower experience and no gold).
