Gold on RMAH is $120 per billion

And will likely climb in these final two weeks now that gold rewards have been hotfixed out of repeated quests (when not using the reset quest option).  I’ll probably sell just enough to cover the cost of my Collectors Edition.

Back in February, I made the observation about the psychology of making it seem like gold will be much needed in patch 2.0.x/expansion, and how that will end up fueling a final burst of fees (from gold selling transactions) that will yield a nice amount of revenue.  I will say this was nicely executed by whomever came up with this plan (as a great selling point to the executives for shutting down the AH’s).  The windfall will likely give them a return that wouldn’t have been otherwise realized.

However, this point will be moot with Reaper of Souls.  Furthermore (and as mentioned in the above post), those enchanting costs like everything else, will be subjected to further change once enough non-tradable gold, has been extracted out of the system.  Again, this was one of very well executed things in terms of making gold look actually valuable again, while also milking the RMAH for all it is worth in its final days.
