Not surprising that basically none of the feedback (including what many posted in the beta forums) made its way into the actual update.
The biggest one is with the Communities feature. There was quite a bit of feedback saying this needed to have some sort of search functionality associated with it. Guess what? What you see in the final update is exactly what existed in the beta (no search).
What’s worse is that now that it is live, the functionality is not even working since you cannot even get any community name to stick (probably their backend is overloaded and unable to accept all the requests). The only ones who were able to create them was if they did it shortly after the update went live.
As I mentioned before, software isn’t Sony Computer Entertainment’s forte and it just shows in their system software. This update doesn’t really even deserve a major point release; this is something more on the order of a 2.6 (the last stable release was 2.57).
And this “beta” wasn’t really much of a beta at all when it came to actually processing any feedback (I’ve taken part in many software betas before and this was one of the WORST ones I’ve taken part in). It was more of just getting a bunch of guinea pigs to actually run it to see if there were any major show stopping issues and nothing more. Last time I will bother since all of that feedback was a pure waste of personal time.
