Ok, so I learned that some of the folks who are listed as signatories on this open letter have been known to use exploits in the game and/or use unapproved 3rd party software like Turbo HUD, used macros that automated parts of the game play at one time or another, account shared, etc. Basically, these folks who have engaged in any of those activities lack integrity and credibility (and thus should not have been included).
As far as I am concerned, this open letter now holds ZERO weight. If you want the target for which this open letter is addressed at to take it seriously, you need to play the game the way it was intended per Blizzard’s terms period.
Anything else is hypocrisy of the highest order. I’ve read some convenient retorts that this open letter only covered botting rather than cheating in general period (as a means to focus the message). Sorry, but in the spirit of fair play, it doesn’t matter what this open letter directly addresses. You cannot have it both ways period. The intention may have been good but just like the D3 game designers, POOR EXECUTION.
