… and the asking for the nerfing of classes.
Not that I didn’t expect it (with regards to the grind) since the core game is originally a Korean MMO. The thing is that the grind has been toned down a lot in this westernized release. Furthermore, with the original level cap being 60, we are still playing what was originally low level content but with some of the tiers of gear progression pushed downwards to simulate level 52 being our current cap.
What is currently epic gear (purple items starting with Butchery) is going to be quickly obsoleted when the level cap is increased so that grind for better gear will continue. Of course, some of the content will continue to be gated behind total item level restrictions so one may still need to get a full set of heroic/legendaries/uniques/epics to continue farming certain level 53+ dungeons.
But that is why I am waiting until they release that first major content patch before I commit to grinding the current cap gear. It’s not like I am going to take part in a lot of the MMO related aspects of the game like guilds. And all I need is to farm enough currency to purchase enough DEX such that I can continue having Patron status (once that runs out in a little under 3 months) as well credits to use in the Marketplace.
As for class nerfing, again; the original game had the original 4 classes balanced around level 60. What we are playing right now is a lowered level cap which in reality still constitutes low level content in that original release. There won’t be that level of design pass and balance tuning beyond some minor tweaks because it’s going to end up being irrelevant in short order (according to todays livestream, that first expansion is slated for around mid-January; basically around a month from now). Egregious outliers yes. But until the level cap reaches closer to the original games max level, we won’t see major balancing utilizing statistics gathered from actual game play.
