I previously wrote about how the 4 Korean servers were individually ghost towns. It looks like Webzen Korea will finally be performing the merge on December 5th in South Korea.
And I was wrong about how I thought they would deal with excess characters beyond the initial 3 slot limit. Basically no characters will be deleted but they have a pecking order as to which characters will be put into those 3 slots (by most recent access). Players will need to unlock additional slots in order to have access to all their characters if they created on multiple servers.
Again, despite my love/hate affair with Trion, I have to give them kudos for doing the right thing when they merged the servers for Devilian (refresher; the original client gave players 2 free slots out of a maximum of 6 on each server; Obsidian Founders pack owners received two additional character slots) by giving up a revenue stream (character slot tickets) and just making all 12 slots free.
