Finally got access. Since there is an NDA associated with this, I won’t be able to cover anything regarding the game. I will be logging my thoughts and impressions for future posting once the NDA is lifted.
UPDATE: sounds like these recent invites are part of a preview week that leads to the end of the closed beta on February 5th (the game launches officially on February 20th). The NDA seems to be lifted since the MoTD reminds participants they are allowed to stream it.
Since this is pretty much now a PR/marketing event, I’ve decided not to proceed with checking this remaster out (since feedback will be moot at this point).
As a quick note, first impressions are rather important and from what I saw of the initial options screen, I was not impressed. I know this is a remaster but the readability of the settings screens was just terrible. That’s pretty much when I came to the conclusion that my interest in this title was based on nostalgia versus an actual desire to get back into playing an RTS. I didn’t even bother with the remastered version of StarCraft for similar reasons. There was a time when I enjoyed the genre; that just isn’t the case now.
