This is just another position in a line of job postings for this unannounced Diablo project dating back to 2015.

There was also that July 2017 tweet by a former Walking Dead designer who joined Blizzard as a senior designer for Diablo. Blizzard also had to do something they normally do not do and that was to throw cold water on the notion there would be any major Diablo announcements at BlizzCon 2017. I already mentioned before about how this team has their work cut out for them in order to give the cinematics team enough lead time to work on a trailer (if they do something remotely close to StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void trailer, that took an year to complete).
So while Blizzard has been mum about a “Diablo 4” (and with D3 pretty much running in maintenance mode for awhile now), all the above have been slow intentional hints about the next game in the franchise. So it is not going to surprise me when Blizzard’s marketing team begins initiating their teasers for this title (sort of like the Baal goat pet asset in WoW’s Battle for Azeroth mined last month).
It remains to be seen if they will announce at a major game convention prior to BlizzCon 2018 in order to generate pre-hype leading into it (Diablo III was announced at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France back on June 28, 2008).
tl;dr: I do believe they will officially announce something about the next Diablo this year. I’m not sure if I will resume playing any Blizzard titles though.
