Skeptical…. heard this same song and dance before where some players then give that constructive feedback, and then nothing really happens with it (effectively wasting their time). This time, they’ve managed to further erode the goodwill with some of their most strongest supporters.
I’ve never really followed any of the huge Diablo supporters except for Twitch streamer DatModz back in the 2014 time frame. Rhykker was also someone I never really watched on YouTube (way too much of a whiteknight for my liking). So it says something when he puts up an hour-plus long video which is similar to other former Diablo content creators who gave up the ghost over the years.
The above is the picture of Blizzard being out of touch with those folks who have stuck with them up to this point (taking them for granted). Folks like myself left the building years ago. While there was hopes they would wise up and wake up (which is why I would occasionally speculate about “Diablo 4”), it’s been like a big fat 0 (not to mention the time wasted in writing about this over the course of the last few days following BlizzCon).
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to hear what Activision Blizzard executives mention during their Q3 earnings conference call on November 8th since there will be some analysts who will ask about the negative reception of Diablo: Immortal.
