Finally completed dealing with the Blogger migration issues (primarily the formatting and internal post links). Many of the early entries have missing images and invalid links to external sources (since most of those were to Blizzard’s old forums).
I contemplated just unpublishing all of that earlier stuff but decided to leave it since it’s applicable to the current state of the gaming industry (the whole thing with “Stop Killing Games” and Pirate Software for example).
Similarly, plenty of embedded videos are also invalid (either from takedowns, channel closures, being made private, etc) which is kind of why I’ve been taking to downloading such media recently so that I can re-host it as a mirror (and not lose context).
Even though this is a side hobby thing, I treated the process seriously (didn’t want the completion of this to slide). Additionally, while I did previously wind down/put this into archival mode, like everything else in life, things change. That whole thing with “stop killing games” changed things (as I’ve long written here about my support for game preservation) and I therefore want to at least link to some of that drama which has been occurring for the better part of the past year.
