LOST ARK Official Launch Delayed

AGS conducted a hot fix maintenance (for what were minor problems) beginning at 5AM Pacific which was expected to last around 4 hours (aka the official launch time).  This maintenance also cut into the 3-day (72 hour) head start period by those same 4 hours.

AGS has generally handled the launch into the head start fairly well.  However, some decisions are head scratching (like this hot fix maintenance right before the official launch that also reduced the 72 hour head start period by those 4 hours).

They really had everything ready for an even smoother official launch had they not performed this hot fix (head start players would’ve already been in-game eliminating the authentication server bottleneck that will now happen once everything goes live again).  I guess they just want an additional launch day challenge (or maybe want to be the peak CCU go through the roof which was already expected to happen).

UPDATE: At 12 noon Pacific, there are at least 80k players with the client launched, and staring at the following screen (it was closer to 90k a few hours ago). 😂

UPDATE 2: At around 2:15PM Pacific, AGS brought the game servers back up after noting all deployment issues had been resolved.  Unfortunately, the server list looked borked, and the client reported that characters could not be created (on servers you had characters on).  They brought the servers back down to check and found that character data was intact.  Basically launch day Murphy’s Law hitting them big time.  Game will likely be up sometime today.

UPDATE 3: Game is online as of 3:45PM Pacific.  In-game marketplace is offline as is the product inventory.
