ArcheAge Unchained – That Didn’t Last Long – ArchePass Testing

Previously, it seemed like Gamigo were planning to put the revised ArchePass system through a more thorough public testing based on what was written in their November 20th announcement, specifically:

This ArchePass will be available on PTS first for an unspecified amount of time as we review the community sentiment or unexpected issues that may occur in the test environment.

I should’ve known better that there was no way they would run a proper public test (we are talking about the same incompetent ArcheAge team from Trion making the exact same boneheaded decisions at Gamigo).  The revised build went up on the PTS on November 27th and then went down for maintenance for at least a day or two (after that maintenance, the Unchained environment was active since originally, Patron was not working).  So we’re looking at only around a week of availability where it really hasn’t even been tested properly.

To put it more simply, the former Trion personnel (starting with Merv Lee Kwai aka Khrolan) haven’t learned anything and are doing what they have always tended to (incompetently) do; to deploy the PTS build into production while ignoring the feedback provided (they will “deal” with it after the fact once the build is live).  And when I say “deal”, it will only be if there are major issues/exploits/bugs and not with actual fine tuning of the missions.

They’ll be removing the compensation (which is meant to cover this past week that is was offline) and have yet to address the initial one (using the web based store) which they had to pull after some folks managed to claim it multiple times.  So the “didn’t last that long” is also regarding the positives which I had noted in my prior posting.  What little they managed to gain there has now been completely erased given how they didn’t even deal with any of the feedback from the short time that this revised ArchePass build was online.

Additionally, I already came across a major bug with one of the missions (the Obtain XP one).

When this mission is first uncloaked, your earned XP is counted properly. However, when at least a day or so rolls by (basically daily reset), your XP now shows up as a negative amount and any XP earned begins subtracting. Posted as feedback in the ArchePass thread just to document they will be launching this revision with major issues.

Update: Tested again on PTS and once the XP subtracts down to 0, XP begins earning again.  After daily reset though, the value turns negative again.  One of their community reps is also passing around wrong info (I heard they are mentioning that these mission counters reset daily which makes zero logical sense because these missions are now weekly).  I know for a fact that it doesn’t reset each day because my missions have been this way since the revised ArchePass build went live on the PTS.

Basically, this entire game is being handled unprofessionally like a clown act.
