TERA (NA) – Login Event For Unlocking Exodor Content

En Masse Entertainment has enabled a daily login event with patch v87 which provides a way for characters to reach level 68 (in order to unlock the quest chain that allows unlocking Exodor).  Completing any Vanguard Request allows collecting Celestial Scales.  Right-clicking on them will bring up the shop.

Each XP scroll provides 40 million experience so by collecting all of the scales over the course of the 28 days in the event; from November 12th until December 9th and redeeming it only for the XP scroll, will allow a level 65 character to reach level 68.  For players already at level 68 and higher, there are other items which the scales can be used for.

Completing select dungeons also drop a Celestial Box and Key; the box can reward up to 5 Celestial Scales (so an additional way to get more of the tokens).

This seems to have been implemented as a stop gap measure to what must be terrible metrics for patch v86 which ended up resulting in pretty negative feedback from most all regions that it was deployed in (K-TERA received this update over 3 months ago to equally poor reception).  EME put out a survey (since they are a subsidiary of Krafton) to obtain feedback regarding the update.  I have my doubts anything will come of that (let alone EME putting out any specific details from the feedback and what response if any, that Bluehole/Krafton will have).  Most regional publishers also instituted temporary measures including increasing the drop rate on Exodor.

Myself, I’ve logged maybe only 12 hours of game play on Exodor (part of it for the main story line and the rest for just a few goes at the dailies) since the update went live.  Most of my recent game time has been in ArcheAge Unchained (since I want to get in as much play so that I can do my “first month” write up for it).  And with Guild Wars 2 releasing the first episode for The Icebrood Saga next week, I’m going to resume playing that in order to complete the episode.

So guess which of the three games drops to the bottom of the pile?  TERA.  I’m just going to quickly login to do one Vanguard, the Ace Dungeons (to get a couple of additional chests), and then logout (so effectively no longer than 20 minutes).  Bluehole/Krafton needs to implement actual sanity into their content since there is no reward or fun feeling to the daily grind as it currently stands.
