I don’t normally keep track of this sort of thing but I just saw that my YouTube channel hit 300K views. Sure, this is nothing since the real YouTuber’s that make a living from it, can garner that many views on one single video in a day.
Mine is just a simple channel though (with no plans to ever monetize) where I now upload mostly un-produced game play footage that most no one would take interest in (exception being my Memories of Devilian playlist which attracts former players). The metrics are interesting since whomever watches those game play videos (like some of the Lost Ark and TERA ones), tends to watch through them all the way. I sort of have been doing the same recently; searching for Guild Wars 2 videos for game play tips (especially when I find pure game play ones without commentary); so it’s probably newer players who are sort of in that same boat.
I just thought it was a cool milestone to highlight since I figured it would only ever get a couple of hundred/thousand (4 digit) views considering the sheer amount of produced content on the site which would drown out whatever I uploaded (without clickbait titles, clickbait thumbnails, etc).
