Smilegate RPG released a trailer showing off a preview of the upcoming content update for Episode 2 which includes the Yorn continent, new dungeons (which also reuses some cinematic dungeons content including a more difficult version of King’s Tomb with Nightmare Antares) including a sea based one, new cosmetics and mounts, new Tier 3 gear, new world boss. The level cap will remain at 50.
The details aren’t known at this time (like if access to the continent will be similarly locked behind an item level requirement as was the case for Rohendel in the Episode 1 content update). To be fair, they have made some streamlining changes including removing the 15 Island Hearts requirement (which represented a major grind for a few of them) to access the Procyon Sea where the Rohendel continent exists. I haven’t logged in to actually verify how the changes work since Episode 1 was released though.
It remains to be seen if T3 Acrasium (which had been datamined several months ago) will be part of the equation for the new gear tier. Acrasium is a limited material used for upgrading gear and is parceled out via limited dailies/weeklies and the occasional time limited cash shop box. Lower tiers can up converted to the next higher tier by combining several of them. It’s the whole calculated time limited entry (applied to dailies, weeklies, end game content) and item level gating that has turned me off from the game. I am not convinced the new development team will be able to make the end game much less formulative than this (where you feel compelled to login daily to complete those limited dailies in order to get your limited dosage of Acrasium). I do plan on re-evaluating things once they release the player housing (private islands) system to see how the progression in that is handled (along with the NPC affinity system which as noted before, is a somewhat unrewarding grind).
