Asiasoft Online (aka PlayPark) will be announcing details of the schedule (pre-OBT) for the Thai (SEA) version of Ascent: Infinite Realm (A:IR) on February 18th (18:30 Bangkok local time). Pre-registration info will also be released at that time.
A:IR had gone off the radar in 2018 after a flurry of PR in late 2017 (in order to capitalize on the PR from PUBG’s early access success). The Korean CBT happened quickly back in November 2017 while the 2nd one was cancelled indefinitely when feedback from the CBT highlighted design issues that needed to be addressed. As a result, the global CBT which was originally slated for some time in 2018, was also pushed back indefinitely. Kakao will be the publisher for Korea as well as the “global” (NA/EU and parts of Oceania; probably Australia and New Zealand) version of the game.
The SEA/Thai version is being published by Asiasoft Online via their PlayPark portal. Krafton (aka Bluehole) seems to have been working with them to bring this region online relatively quickly and possibly launching before Korea (part of this could be due to the game not yet meeting Kakao’s requirements for whatever monetization schemes they have for both Korea and NA/EU/Oceania).
PlayPark has noted the game will have english subtitles along with localization for the UI and will be free to play for “all” (implying there will be no region locking which has been the norm for many SEA and Thai publishers).
