MU Legend hits Steam on August 7

Translation:  new accounts, logins, and CCU’s have probably fallen below what is considered healthy metrics for the standalone launcher.

This just brings the launcher to Steam (account creation/management and game servers are still the same as the Webzen standalone launcher).  Their request to place the game on the wish list has an added effect of showing interest which can have an impact on showing up on the main page or ones discovery queue (for those who may have an interest in such titles).

I haven’t been keeping track of this game since I stopped playing but learned that they recently merged (on July 10th) what was a fresh start server into the server that had been previously merged from 4 separate ones (back in March) that existed at launch (with the exception of the SEA server which remained singular since launch except for the fresh start one); so now there is just one server per region.

This being Webzen here, they have a trigger finger with opening new servers like they did at launch with MU Legend (both in Korea and the global version) and when they previously handled ELOA and ASTA; only to quickly realize they needed to merge them back.  The reason I bring this up is because I also learned that they will be releasing an update which opens up the continent of Noria around this same time (they might get a spike of returning players at that time).  So they will be doing their usual “monitoring of logons” during the Steam release and will open up new servers as needed.

So it’s going to be “great” if they happen to get a decent influx of new players via Steam and returning players for the Noria update where they end up kneejerk opening a new server just around a month after they had performed a merge (and then watch them several months later merging again).
