The company brought down the servers for Paragon at 8:00AM EST today. While I am personally not into MOBA’s (and thus never really played Paragon), I can empathize with what many in their player base have been and are now going through (now coming up on the two month mark since Devilian was closed down).
While I’ve settled in to primarily playing TERA on both PC and PS4, I also knew it would also never be able an actual replacement (even though Devilian was this oddball little cousin); it’s that aspect of not having a similarly styled game to transition into that allows me to have a lot more empathy for other players communities that have to go through their own game closure because not all of those players will find something else which resonates with them.
The closure of Paragon was somewhat dampened by the fact that Epic refunded all purchases made as well as the release of the games assets. But none of that can replace the fact that the actual game can no longer be played. My condolences go out to those players who truly loved the game.
