While this was eventually expected (given the lack of any updates following the open letter I posted back in November), this announcement is still a bittersweet moment knowing there is now a finality to it. The decision was a joint one made by both Trion Worlds and Bluehole.
Ironically, the Thai version will be the sole remaining remnant of this franchise after March 5th (it looks like they will plan to just ride out their publishing contract; it probably will not last past this year though).
Trion is offering players a starter pack in one of their other games (plus transfer of any remaining credits to that game); I’ll probably move my credits over to ArcheAge BUT I have no intention of remaining a paying customer (for any of their games) once Devilian goes offline (it’s difficult to support a publisher that bears a great deal of responsibility for driving this game into the ground via poor decision making back in early 2016 as well as deafening silence throughout most of 2017).
