Continue playing Paragon 100 character?

Following is my response to the above question.

I believe that currently playing your P100 now no longer earns any additional Paragon experience.

With the changes to Paragon, they are rewarding those who do have max Paragon level character(s), 100 bonus Paragon points for each of those P100 characters once this change is rolled out.  Since ones account Paragon level will likely be calculated based upon the cumulative total Paragon experience of all Paragon level characters (softcore and hardcore will be separate per Lylirra’s tweet), this implies/is a prodding for players to level alt’s (thus this new system will also reward those who have been putting time into playing alternate characters have also have Paragon levels on them).  And for those who currently do not have a P100, it provides a motivation to get there on at least one for that 100 bonus Paragon points.

I understand that some players who played only a single character and are already at P100 will feel a little miffed.  It’s not much different when they first rolled out Paragon levels in the first place; most of my play hours were pre-Paragon levels and all of that previous elite kills/experience that went with it didn’t translate into an appropriate Paragon level (we all started at P1).

But I understand the rationale for finding a balance as there are also many who play multiple character/classes, and thus aren’t even close to P100 even if you total up all of that cumulative Paragon experience.

Previously, there was no motivation for me to grind out Paragon levels since it was just an illusion of progression.  Thus my total playing time since 1.0.4 has been on a steady decline (total hours played over the last year doesn’t even equal the total hours I played from release until 1.0.4).  Now that we can actually put these points into our stats ourselves as well as “Utility” (like movement speed, critical hit chance, healing, etc), it actually gives me a reason to go out and slay demons again on my characters (I’ll be focusing on my softcore ones first).
